Smith Care Counseling is excited to partner with Forastiere Family Funeral & Cremation to launch a support group on September 16, 2026, for spouses and partners of individuals with bipolar disorder.
This group aims to create a safe, confidential environment for sharing experiences, discussing coping strategies, and learning about bipolar disorder while supporting each other's well-being.
Stay tuned for more details throughout the summer!

You are bigger than anything that you could bring into this space. What you are going through or dealing with does not define who you are. Although it may be an important piece to the puzzle.

Allowing yourself to be vulnerable is a scary and challenging commitment. But it’s something we must do in order to free ourselves from ourselves.
My approach to care is Trauma Informed, thought provoking, and built on the belief that healing, change and growth is possible.
As we partner in this process your needs and interests are the priority. It’s important that we create the safe space for you to set the stage & direction for your life with support, compassion, and positivity.
Let's work to take control of who you want to be, not only in your relationships, but most importantly the relationship you have within yourself.

I specialize in working with individuals living with Bipolar disorder, helping them better understand and manage mood changes. When helpful, I also involve loved ones to strengthen communication, provide education, and create a more supportive environment.
My approach integrates evidence-based modalities such as Cogntive Behaviroal Therpay(CBT), Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therpay(IPSRT), and mindfulness-based strategies to support stability, routine, and early identification of mood shifts.
I understand that mood changes can have significant impacts on relationship stress, and past experiences can leave people feeling isolated, overwhelmed, and misunderstood.
In therapy, I help clients build insight, improve communication, strengthen emotional regulation, and create more supportive and connected relationships.
My Professional Path
As a proud graduate of Westfield State University, I started my professional career in child protective services. During my time there I've supported individuals in overcoming not only systematic and organizational challenges but personal challenges that include:
substance misuse, domestic violence, co-parenting challenges, anger management, marital and probate challenges, and all aspects of parenting and child safety and well-being.
My professional experience has also lead me to work in Community Mental Health Outpatient Clinics and Community Crisis Clinics.
Most recently, I have the honor of working with Geriatric veterans and their family members around challenges that include loss of independence, social isolation, caregiver stress, burden, Grief & Loss, chronic depression & anxiety, suicidal ideations, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
My commitment to you
I am here to walk alongside you as you start the process of freeing yourself from unwanted thoughts, behaviors and patterns that may be barriers to obtaining what you want out of this life.
